7 DAYS

Uh! You know what, what. What, what
I got something to say, yeah!
Bri Jnr. with Craig David's '7 Days'
Check it out out! Yeah! Uh!

On my way to see my friends
Who lived a couple blocks away from me, ooh
As I walked through the subway
It must have been about quarter past three
In front of me stood a beautiful honey
With a beautiful body (body)
She asked me for the time
I said it'd cost her her name
A six digit number
And a date with tommorow at nine

Did she decline? No
Didn't she mind? I don't think so
Was it for real? Damn sure
What was the deal? A pretty girl aged 24
So was she keen? She couldn't wait
Cinnamon queen? Let me update
What did she say?
She said she'd love to rendezvous
She asked me what we were gonna do
Said we'd start with a bottle of Moet for two

Monday - took her for a drink on Tuesday
We were making love by Wednesday
And on Thursday and Friday and Saturday
We chilled on Sunday
I met this girl on Monday - took her for a drink on Tuesday
We were making love by Wednesday
And on Thursday and Friday and Saturday
We chilled on Sunday

Nine was the time, 'cos I'll be getting mine
And she was looking fine, smooth talker
She told me she'd love to unfold me all night long
Ooh, I loved the way she kicked it
From the front to back she flipped it
Back she flipped it, the way she kicked it
And, oh, yeah, I hope that she'd care
'Cos I'm a man who'll always be there

Ooh, yeah. I'm not a man to play around baby
Ooh, yeah. 'Cos a one night stand isn't really fair
From the first impression girl
You don't seem to be like that
'Cos there's no need to chat
For there'll be plenty of time for that
From the subway to my home
Endless ringing of my phone
When you're feeling all alone
All you gotta do is just call me, call me

Monday - took her for a drink on Tuesday
We were making love by Wednesday
And on Thursday and Friday and Saturday
We chilled on Sunday
I met this girl on Monday - I really fucked her off by Tuesday
We were still making love by Wednesday
And on Thursday and Friday and Saturday
I forgot the next day

Since I met this special lady
I can't get her off my mind
She's one of a kind and I ain't about to deny it
It's a special kind of thing with you, oh...

Monday - took her for a drink on Tuesday
We were making love by Wednesday
And on Thursday and Friday and Saturday
We chilled on Sunday
I met this girl on Monday - took her for a drink on Friday
We were making love some other day
Some other day, I can't name the day
But it was some other day

Bri enthuses:

Prior to this album, we steered clear of placing cover songs on our official releases, having previously got it all out of our system with our 'TV Themes' project in the formative years. But as my writers block was making itself more and more evident in the late noughties and Tico was filling the gaping gaps, we relaxed our self-imposed rule and I was allowed to indulge myself in a faithful cover of Craig David's raunchy r'n'b classic.

We recreated the originals vocal delivery perfectly for the intro, opening verse and chorus but even I, Bri couldn't keep up with Craig's flow for the second verse so I mumbled the lyrics as authentically as I could, hoping that I would get all the words in before the second chorus turned up.

Tico's supportive backing vocals reciting the days of the week are a joy to hear, especially his pronunciation of 'Sunday'. Tico has a voice made for Adult Contemporary Radio and I strongly encourage him to consider a career in such a field.

Tico Jnr. angrily suggests:

This is Bri's choice of cover, and he has done a moderate job, allowing me to lay down the instrumentation and be the real star of the show. Apparently, I am only on this song as I have to be, but Bri could've easily managed it all by himself had he been able to get away from that blasted broken biscuit stall. If I were to rate this song I would give it a score, but not sure what it'd be. That said, my delicious vocals have many R&B lovers frothing in their panties, regardless their self-assigned gender.
