DIGITAL, I DON'T DIG IT ALL

Download

I don't know about you but I'm dreading the switch
The thought of digital television has given me a nervous twitch
I don't want it to happen, I don't want it to change
Compulsive digital viewing feels awful strange

The Government hasn't really thought this through for ordinary folk like me and you
But if we're still to watch Corrie we know what we're to do...

Stand up! Make our voices heard
I ain't no sheep and I won't follow no herd
Stand up! Mark our voices heard
We'll suffer no more, no, we won't suffer no hurt

Well, what about drug users and those on the dole?
Their chances of seeing Trish again are shrinking, oh, so small
They have other priorities - other neccessities
So I'm singing this song to you, can't you hear me plead

The Government hasn't really thought this through for scummy folk like you and you and you
But if we're still to watch Home And Away again you know what you're to do...

Stand up! Make our voices heard
I ain't no sheep and I won't follow no herd
Stand up! Make our voices heard
We'll suffer no more, no, we won't suffer no hurt
Stand up! Make our voices heard
I ain't no sheep and I won't follow no herd
Stand up! Make our voices heard
We'll suffer no more, no, we won't suffer no hurt

Digital, I don't get it all
Digital, I don't dig it all
Digital, I don't get it all
Digital, I don't dig it all

Stand up! Make our voices heard
I ain't no sheep and I won't follow no herd
Stand up! Make our voices heard
We'll suffer no more, no, we won't suffer no hurt
Stand up! Make our voices heard
I ain't no sheep and I won't follow no herd
Stand up! Make our voices heard
We'll suffer no more, no, we won't suffer no hurt

Bri Jnr. suggests:

Upon reflection, this was Tico attempting to repeat the winning formula of 'Climb On Board (The Mega Rider)' with an at the time-relevant subject matter regarding the end of terrestrial TV. Tico felt the need to protest against this sorry state of affairs but there was no going back - 'the switch' was going ahead regardless of Tico's tantrums over the issue and no amount of 'standing up' would alter the natural course of history. It made for a supremely catchy chorus though which we both delivered with muchos gustos. Raging against the machine never felt so delightful.

Tico Jnr pauses before whispering:

Well, that was a waste of time. I was so against the 'analogue switch-off', I was fuming. I rounded up pensioners and poor people like sheep and created this petition against what I thought was a hastily made decision, but in hindsight I do think maybe it was maybe for the best.

Despite the deserved cause, this really was a rubbish number and - despite it still being around five times better than anything Bri Jnr. has ever produced, it is an example of the tripe we're capable of.
