Come rain or shine, they'll be hanging around before opening time
Buy one get free, it's an OAP's date with destiny
Not much else to do, spending half their retirement standing in a queue
Always counting change, holding others up is how they play
Game over, man!
Pick up the Daily Mail, then it's time for the bargains at the jumble sale
Can't stand HMV, they're confused by cassettes let alone MP3's
Sip tea in coffee rooms before they bust-a-groove to those pre-war tunes
They get their cold-flu jab before they settle down for an afternoon nap
Whoopsi-daisy!
We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when
But we'll meet again, some sunny day

Bri Jnr. raps:
This ditty came to life back when I manned the tills at WHSmith - it always struck me how pensioners would on a daily basis, queue outside the store, eager to be the first to lay their hands on a fresh copy of The Daily Mail. You would think that while they were queuing outside that they would get their change out of their purses/wallets and be ready to hand it straight over at the till but no - they would count their coppers and silverware at the till desk, completely oblivious to the growing queues of frustrated shoppers behind them.
I penned the opening verse years before the second and Tico was not at all interested in recording this ditty until I had finished it. Once I eventually did, Tico was more than thrilled to croon enthusiastically in the background. I decided rather than write a chorus or bridge of any kind that instead, the song would increase at a slightly faster tempo over and over, faster and faster until it reached a pitch that only terrified cats and dogs could hear.
Tico excelled himself yet again on production duties and we celebrated with a deliciously sober duet of 'We'll Meet Again' which we shamelessly stuck on at the end of the song to reward the listeners for their patience and tolerance. Game over!
Tico Jnr. jerks:
Again, Bri is slightly incorrect in his musings, the was co-written and I came up with the best words. It is a bit tricky to play live, but we manage it, although we nromally get to around 40x pace before deciding enough is enough is enough.
