Bri Jnr. with a smirk tells us:
Once upon a time, God created our planet, moon, stars, sun and other co-habitants of the universe in just seven days. If only the Guinness Book of Records existed back then to document this remarkable achievement. Not only this but God exclaimed upon the 23rd hour of the seventh day "Let there be Bri Jnr! Let there be Tico Jnr!" and many millenium's later, God's command was honoured. And we belatedly blessed the Lord above with this gravity-defying, common sense-denying debut album. Q Magazine called it ''the most astonishing debut album since 'Take That And Party'" and we were bestowed upon with awards left, right and centre thanks to the colossal impact this album made on the post-post-Britpop music scene. 17 years on, the legacy of Gullet is assured thanks to it inspiring a legion of bands and artists to make music that sounds absolutely nothing like us. Thus acknowledging that we and Gullet are untouchable. Tico Jnr. lustfully says:
I am glad Bri recognises the brilliance of this album, as does the rest of the world, but I struggle to hear much of what he has done on here. Sure, he's done a rippa' on Stone Cold Vigilante, and he croons delightfully on Baby, Let Me In, but he's just about AWOL on this otherwise, leaving me to get our nicely acclaimed debut album off the ground. Anyway, I gave his a spin just last night while scoffing on bread and carrots, and it was as exciting to hear now as the first time around. It hasn't aged a wee bit at all. People are so lucky to have this album in their lives since mid-2005. |
